HEAL YOUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH TEA
There is nothing like a little herb to spice up your relationship. There is a renewed sense of intimacy in such an act as you join in conversations near the fireplace, enjoy breakfast or dinner together as you warm yourselves up.
Herbs that ease period pain (Don’t be afraid guys it will be over soon)
Painful menses, lower back ache, abdominal cramping and cranky behaviour – all women would have experienced this at some point. But fear not. There are natural Herbal remedies that will help ease the pains and make your cycle run smoothly.
Chamomile
This lovely flower tea is an excellent choice as it is very easy to find at your local supermarket. It has a great calming affect on the nerves and is able to balance emotions and maintain calm. It’s able to soothe and relax the muscles and stimulate the blood flow in the pelvic area whilst relaxing the uterus in order to minimize spasms and cramps.
Chamomile is a gentle yet highly effective tea. Drink this tea from the beginning of your cycle until the end to maintain peace and inner calm.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon is another herb that most people will have in their kitchen. It’s great for relieving menstrual cramps because it possesses anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties. If you have sugar cravings during your menstrual cycle, drinking cinnamon tea can also help regulate your blood sugar level and minimize your sweet cravings.
Preparation: Either use cinnamon sticks or boil in a pan of water for 15-20 minutes. If you are short of time Cinnamon can also be used in the powdered form by placing 1-2 tea spoons in a cup of boiling water.
Cramp Bark
This herb is one of the best remedies for even the worst menstrual related cramps, pains and tensions. If you suffer from lower back pains and cramps this tea is a perfect choice. It not only alleviates muscle spasm but also skeletal pains, it can even help the body prevent water retention and bloating.
Preparation: Add about 1-2 teaspoons of Cramp Bark into a tea-infuser and place cup of boiling water and leave to steep for 10 minutes. You can mix it with your favourite herbal tea, such as, peppermint, chamomile or lemon balm.
Herbs that boost the immune system (Healthy wife happy life)
The seasons are changing as we transition into the darker, wetter, colder months of winter, sometimes our immune system needs a little boost to ward off any common cold or flu viruses that may be lingering.
Besides increasing your intake of green leafy vegetables and fruits and vitamin C there are a few teas you can also prepare to help give your immune system a boost.
Stinging Nettle
Stinging Nettle is a powerhouse herb, packed full of essential vitamins and minerals such as;
- Vitamin A, C, E, F, K, P
- Vitamin B- complexes as well as Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, B-6 all of which are found in high levels and act as antioxidants.
- Zinc, Iron, Magnesium, Copper and Selenium
- Boron, Bromine, Calcium, Chlorine, Chlorophyll, Potassium, Phosphorus, Sodium, Iodine, Chromium, Silicon and Sulphur
- 16 free amino acids
Drinking a cup of Nettle tea on a regular basis can increase you immune system. It has a gentle affect on the lymphatic system and is a slow-acting herb that gently cleanses the body of metabolic wastes that may cause harm to the system.
Preparation: fill a Tea Infuser with Organic Nettle leave and place in a cup of boiling water, leave to steep for 10 minutes.
Thyme
Thyme is a common herb that can be found in most kitchens, and can prove to be very useful in the event that you fall ill with either the flu or a common cold. Thyme is an expectorant herb, which means it will help clear out your lungs faster and make you feel better sooner. Add some honey to soothe a sore throat.
Preparation: Place 2 teaspoons of dried Thyme into a cup of boiling water and allow to steep for 10 Minutes.
Garlic
Never underestimate the power of Garlic; it is one of nature’s most potent immune boosters, as it increases the production of white blood cells. It’s also anti-bacterial and anti-viral helps in clearing infection within the body.
Preparation: Smash 1-2 garlic cloves (to release the active compound called allicin, which acts as a powerful antibiotic.) and add to boiling water, leaving it to steep for 10 minutes. You may add lemon or ginger and honey to give the tea a pleasant taste.
All Inclusive
Of course these aren’t specific to couples; anyone can use it and experience results. It is my hope that these teas act as a catalyst to improve your quality of life. Your physical and mental health can improve by using these natural methods; a longer less stressful life what more could one ask for.
