Lovely currents

Like the tempest at sea, we go back and forth,

Like the climax of an opera,

We peak, as onlookers mix emotions,

Yet-

Words are as still as the air after rain,

If only you could just read my thoughts,

Open the gates to my heart, to my soul,

Waves crash rudely against our bones,

Broken-

Oh, how I love thee but every dove needs to be set free,

I could already feel the wind return,

Resistance I no longer know,

I nose dive through this cold humid air,

And begin to dissipate on approach,

As reflecting water returns, the vision of myself,

Timid as a school boy’s first crush, my eyes fizzle on impact,

A nervous exchange,

It began, with us, simply passionate,

Synched with… still… emotion,

Always above the ocean.
