Hearts develop legs for Wedge's id as Gender Artistic Children Canada

The symbol forms a "universal language" that helps the non-profit organization express its support for non-binary and transgender children

The Montreal-based studio was tasked with creating a fresh visual language that emphasized joy and human connectedness. After completing a series of workshops with the organization creating resources and information for gender creative children and their families, Wedge set out to find a “strong, universal symbol” that could express the GCKC's mission.

They opted for a cheerful looking heart mascot with oversized legs that could add energy and optimism to the organization's identity. According to Wedge, the GCKC community was immediately drawn to the motif.

It comes in a rainbow-colored palette that definitely appeals to younger audiences, and alongside Pangram Pangram's Agrandir font. The studio says the typeface was playful enough to work with its identity but could also be flexible to be more official when needed.

It's an extremely personable piece of branding that feels like a much-needed evolution of GCKC's previous visual language.
