Constructing a model for an Olympic athlete

Courtney Tulloch started his gymnastics training at the age of six. The 25-year-old is the Commonwealth Games champion on rings and a proud member of Team GB's Olympic team.

In addition to training and participating in international tournaments, Tulloch has built a strong profile on social media. Through his YouTube channel and Instagram account (with over 40,000 followers), he publishes inspiring and honest content that captures the ups and downs of life as a professional athlete and shares training videos, selfies and snapshots of his daily routine.

While Tulloch's main focus is gymnastics, he is also interested in creating a platform that goes beyond competitive sports – be it by looking after young athletes and working with youth groups or by introducing his own range of clothing and goods. For someone who grew up with athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo, Roger Federer and Michael Jordan, success means not only winning medals or standing on the podium, but also using your platform to inspire and motivate others and one to achieve wider cultural impact.

"It has always been my dream and my goal to have a brand," he told CR. "I see people like Ronaldo and Jordan and their brand and what they have … and they are more than an athlete or an athlete," he says CR. "I love to inspire people, I like fashion, I have a lot more that I want to do outside of gymnastics, so I've always wanted to."

Thanks to the collaboration with the brand agency JKR, Tulloch now has its own visual identity and a clothing line that will soon appear with optimistic phrases that are inspired by his attitude to sports. The identity was introduced earlier this year and Tulloch hopes it will help him improve his profile and reach a wider audience outside of the gymnastics.
