Easy methods to get extra YouTube views

Marketers who use YouTube are often looking for tactics to get more views for their videos.

While this is not the only metric that determines the success of a YouTube marketing campaign, it is important to try to get a reasonable number of views for your videos on this social media platform.

What's the point of uploading a video if no one will see it? Especially your target group.

Even so, only 9% of small businesses use YouTube, even though it has over a billion users.

If your videos are not getting enough views, there is a good chance you are missing out as the competition on this media platform is not yet of the highest level.

In this post, we'll take a look at tactics you can use to get more views for your YouTube videos.

We're going to cover some of the basics that will help you in the long run, but also some unique tactics you can put into action to get faster results with your target audience.

By the end of this post, you will have a great deal of confidence in knowing what to do to get more views for your YouTube videos.

Let's start!

Great video content drives more YouTube views

This may sound obvious, but it's ignored by many people on social media.

If you want your videos to get more views and better search results, the first and foremost thing you need to do is create great content.

If you can do this, it will be a lot easier to get more views for your videos.

Head over to InVideo and check out the different solutions they offer for people who want to edit great videos quickly and easily. You don't need video editor experience to use the tool. It's easy to use and should be part of any marketer's tool arsenal.

People will share your video content on social networks if it's good, so your viewers will do a lot of the promotional work for you.

Since I don't know your company or your target audience, I can't tell you exactly what to do to create great content.

What I can tell you is this: Great content is often content that offers exceptional value.

It is important that you don't get involved in the wrong things if you are to create great content to get more YouTube views.

People often worry about the length of the content and the quality of production.

Sure, the length of the content can matter to some extent. But are you really going to stop watching an hour-long video when it offers immense value?

In fact, it should be noted that the average viewing session on mobile is 40 minutes.

Value exceeds anything for search results, especially high quality production.

I'm sure you've experienced this for yourself – where you saw a long YouTube video that wasn't overproduced by the end because it was so informative.

You might even have done this for a webinar – which is similar in a sense.

The video below is at the top of the How do I create a website list in YouTube search results.

It's highly rated and gets it … it's over 2 hours and 30 minutes long!

YouTube views

It's not over-produced, it's just a high value that meets the needs of its target audience.

Here is his ranking.

Screenshot of the YouTube views

If you look over it, you will find that the other video is also very long.

So remember that you shouldn't think about the length of any content on this social network.

The same applies to the production value of a video.

Y.ouTube views do not depend on the video production

More and more marketing companies are investing in YouTube, which means there are lots of high-production videos out there, but you don't necessarily have to join this package just yet.

YouTube is a forgiving media site when your content is good.

If your videos are gaining some momentum, invest in fancy production and camera equipment to get more YouTube views.

First, make sure you cover the basics of this social media platform.

When creating a talking head video, make sure everything is well lit and the sound is clear.

When creating a screen capture video, make sure the resolution is high and the sound is easy to hear.

When you create a slideshow, you are creating something simple and visual. Use strong images and minimal text on your slides. You can use a tool like Haiku Deck to do this. A custom thumbnail also helps to remember your brand.

For more YouTube views, focus primarily on value

Remember – adding value should be your guiding principle.

If you want to learn how to create value, you need to learn more about your audience – and especially what they like.

If you want to know what content your audience likes, take a look at the existing content that pertains to your niche.

There are two approaches you can take.

The first is to take a look at blog posts that have performed well in your niche. Then create incredibly informative videos based on these blog post topics.

You can find such blog posts using Buzzsumo.

Or, you can just watch other YouTube videos that did well in your niche and create better videos that offer more value and deeper insights.

If you are an expert in your niche, making better videos shouldn't be difficult using other videos for inspiration.

However, if you are having problems, take a moment to assess what could have been done to improve the other video.

  • Did it ignore something that was really important?
  • Did the video not fully explain certain sections?
  • Did the video not provide actual results / case study information?
  • Was the pace too slow – or was it too fast?
  • Was there too much information on the screen – or not enough?
  • Could diagrams have been used to better illustrate a point?
  • Maybe some data could have been used?

You might even want to check out the comments on this video. Check if the audience is missing something.

You can also use the YouTube search engine to come up with ideas for content.

For example, suppose I want to teach people how to build or build a pond for people, and I want to do content marketing.

I can just type "How to Build a Pond" into the "YouTube Search" box. Then. Content-related ideas are presented to me.

Get more YouTube views by finding unique content ideas

Not all ideas are relevant, so I can pick the first option and see what else comes out of "Autosuggest".

If I choose the "How do I build a pond in your yard?" Decide, I am presented with some helpful ideas.

Increase YouTube Views

I can then repeat this process with other keywords if I want more video ideas.

It can also be a good idea to go through the alphabet after choosing a base keyword.

So this time I'm typing in how to build a pond one

Increase YouTube Views

And as you can see, there are a lot of video ideas here that look relevant. I can use this to create super niche video content that resonates with a specific demographic on the social media platform.

If you already have an audience on YouTube, ask your audience what to cover next.

In most cases, your audience will provide you with ideas that you can use.

The great thing about these video ideas is that if you respond to them, you can be sure that there will be an audience for them.

When you've done a good job creating great content that meets people's needs, you'll find that organic views are easier to find.

Remember, YouTube is a media site that aims to improve the user experience.

The best way to do this is to showcase great content to your audience.

If your content is great, it will get an increased number of comments, approvals, and positive ratings.

After all that, there is a good chance it will rank higher in search results. There's no official word on it, but it's definitely part of the mix.

As mentioned by Brian Dean, YouTube doesn't have to rely solely on backlinks to rank videos on the YouTube search engine. They also have a lot of detailed user experience data to help them.

This user experience data is arguably much more powerful for letting YouTube know where to rank content.

If your videos have a great user experience, there's a good chance they'll do better on the ranking too.

Optimize your YouTube video to get more YouTube views

By optimizing your video, it can be designed to show your video when and where it should. This includes the search lists and the suggestions for related videos.

If you want to optimize your video, there are four things you need to take care of.

  • title
  • Keywords
  • description
  • Thumbnail

It's easy to complicate this and analyze it all. Try to keep it simple.

Write better YouTube titles

As for the title, it's important that you don't try to make it look like "clickbait".

Once you've created your video around a keyword, make sure your title clearly states that your video covers that keyword.

So if I have a video with the keyword "How to Make a Brownie For Beginners?" Created, my title could …

How to bake a chocolate cake for beginners – spent 5 and 5 minutes cleaning up

Note: If you want to write great titles, you may want to find out what your audience dislikes or fears about the topic in question.

In the example above, people might be concerned that a cake will cost a lot to bake and that it will be painful to clean up. When I bring that up in the title, the video becomes all the more enticing.

Use YouTube tags

For the tags, provide some keywords related to the subject of your video.

image14

Try not to use more than 10-12 tags with this media page. You lose your target audience and water down the search results data.

If you choose the correct tags, your video will appear in the Suggested Videos section when someone watches a related video.

Now let's look at the description.

Create an accurate, streamlined YouTube description

When writing the description, it's important that you don't try to outsmart Google. Don't use keywords or rely on tricks that you may come across.

You could over-optimize your video, which can have the opposite effect.

Your goal with the description is to clearly describe what the video is about and what people will learn from watching it.

If you look at the best results returned for a YouTube video search, you will find that the description varies widely.

This is because, as mentioned above, the user experience also plays a huge role in the ranking of the video. While your description is important, you shouldn't worry too much about getting it right.

However, if you really need a checklist to help you write your descriptions, it can be used courtesy of Brian Dean.

Optimize your video for more YouTube views

This is what an example description looks like.

Example of a Youtube description for further Youtube views

But like I said, the top videos all have different styles that they use to describe them. You don't necessarily have to follow the instructions above.

Just include the story behind your video, what it covers, and what people will learn from watching it.

Note: If you want to do something that will improve the user experience, include timestamps in your description so that people can get to interesting parts of a video quickly.

YouTube thumbnail optimization

There are a number of approaches you can use to thumbnail view. This post has explained how to make beautiful YouTube thumbnails. A custom thumbnail will become part of your media platform branding.

For the most part, you can experiment with the following.

  1. Use pictures of people in your custom thumbnail
  2. Edit your thumbnail to include a text overlay using a keyword based on the topic covered in your video
  3. Add an image that shows an interesting section of the video – for example, the final result of a how-to video.

You will find that if you combine some of the above, you can get the best results.

Here is an example of how you can use an interesting image and a relevant text overlay.

Improve YouTube views

As you can see, the custom thumbnail isn't overly dramatic. It contains text related to the video keyword and an image of an interesting section of the video.

Here is an example of using a person's image with text overlay, and possibly the “end result” to be achieved.

Of course you want to experiment here. However, these two examples and the tips provided should be enough to tell you what usually works well.

Experiment with ads to get YouTube views

Ads might sound like a little excuse here. I get it; You may not want to pay to play the YouTube view game.

Running YouTube ads is definitely one of the best ways to get the right views for your videos.

YouTube ads This option is a great way to target your ideal audience and make sure they learn about your video.

The entire process on this social media platform takes a lot of guesswork.

By showing ads, you can get real-time feedback on how good your video is so you can find out more quickly whether or not you have a great video to hand.

When you find that people watch your video until the end and share it a lot, you know that you are on the right track with regard to the strategy you are using to create videos.

So where do i start?

Note: I've explained in detail how you can create YouTube ads here.

When it comes to YouTube, there are essentially two types of ads that you can run.

  1. Ads that appear before or while YouTube videos are playing – “in-stream ads”.
  2. Ads that appear on YouTube search lists – search list ads.

I recommend you experiment with both.

Use YouTube search to find videos in your niche that are related to your specific video topic and write down their URLs.

Then align those videos using the Placements option.

So let's say I started a company where people learned how to bake, and I just made a video based on the "how to bake a cake" theme.

I go to YouTube and type in how to bake a cake.

image03

I then write down the urls of those videos in a google doc.

I then enter these URLs when I set up targeting for my ads.

Of course, monetization is not activated in all video lists. This means that you will not be able to show on all of them.

However, if you start with a list of 10-15 videos, you should have good delivery to your target audience.

Obviously, if you want to target within the YouTube search lists, you will need some keywords to be able to target.

Use the YouTube search box to find relevant keywords.

Enter a keyword that explains what your video covers. Then make a note of other relevant keywords provided by "autosuggest".

As you can see below, when I type in "Bake a Cake" I am presented with relevant keywords that are worth targeting.

I've highlighted a few that may be worthwhile.

fine Youtube key terms for more Youtube views

Note: The assumption here is that I am teaching people how to bake a simple cake. That's why I chose these somewhat simple keywords.

If I want to target even more relevant keywords, I'll just pick one of the ideal keywords and then hit the space bar.

Find key terms for more Youtube views

I also see more keywords for targeting.

As mentioned above, you can also scroll through the alphabet to find other relevant keywords.

Then all I have to do is write those keywords down in a Google Doc and enter them when setting up my ad targeting.

Promote your YouTube video anywhere

Just because you created a YouTube video doesn't mean you can only advertise on YouTube now.

Publish links for your YouTube content on all of your other digital assets, including your email list or Facebook page, as well as other social media websites.

If you know some influencers who may find your video useful, you may even want to email them to let them know that you've created something they might like.

Consider posting a link or snippet on yours Instagram stories.

Don't be afraid to let the world know that you have something new to offer.

Increase YouTube views by building a subscriber base

You also want to focus on building a subscriber base to get more YouTube views for future content.

If you can get subscribers, your videos will automatically get a good chunk of views the moment you post them. If these views represent a good user experience, your video can do a better job ranking too.

Here I have explained how you can get more YouTube subscribers.

Aside from creating good content, there are a few important steps you can take to get more subscribers.

At the beginning and end of your video, mention that subscribing will help forward the video to more people on your social network.

When people actually say it, they may be more inclined to take action.

You can also make an effort to create content consistently.

Creating more videos will ensure that your content can be found in more ways. This, of course, can help improve your subscriber count.

This also gives users a reason to become subscribers as they want to know when you are posting new content.

Note: If you can create evergreen content, the content you create will pay off for a long time because it will continue to be relevant to people in the future.

This means that the video will start subscribing long after it was created.

Conclusion

Getting more YouTube views sounds complex and obscure to many.

Hopefully by now you have a better sense of how to get more viewers to your videos.

There are many ways that you can go. The most important step is to create quality content on topics that are important to your viewers.

If you can take care of it, anything else you do to get more Youtube views will be much more effective.
