Pornhub advert for brand new collection of intercourse toys tells us to place the cucumbers down

Pornhub's latest ad uses the medium of Song to suggest that their products are a better choice for sexual exploits than our DIY options

As we pointed out in a feature last year, Pornhub is a brand with a surprising reputation for creativity. Whether through ads combating taboos like women having sex during their periods or seeking to save the lives of bees and the environment, it's a brand that knows the value of clever and subversive marketing.

Which brings us neatly to his latest ad for his new series of sex toys. In typical Pornhub style, the two-minute film is hilarious and straightforward, and written from the perspective of objects – from cucumbers to socks – that people could use as DIY toys. You are advised that this is "not our job".

The Singalong spot is the founding of the advertising agency BETC, which previously worked with Pornhub on its bee rescue campaign. Aside from the entertaining soundtrack, the wit of the advertisement lies in the abundance of objects people seem to get out with, from electric toothbrushes to car exhaust.

At the end of the ad, viewers are also invited to share their personal DIY preferences on the Pornhub website, which offers a discount on their products for the strangest submissions.
