The brand new Amazon Alexa advert brings viewers again to Pompeii

The ad is the latest in a series of spots for the brand that mix humor with epic scenes while also pointing out the usefulness of Alexa's smart assistant

While previous ads for Amazon Alexa Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi pondered what life was like before the arrival of intelligent assistants and Michael B. Jordan became one, Droga5's most recent ad for the brand deals with a topic that is likely to bring back painful memories becomes many parents: home schooling.

Fortunately, the ad is humorous, showing a father navigating the devastating destruction of ancient Italy while trying to use Alexa to find out facts for his daughter's Pompeii project.

Advertising fans may notice that this new spot is somewhat reminiscent of BETC Paris' classic Canal + series, which similarly combines exaggerated historical scenes with wit.

As with these ads, Droga5's work for Amazon is doing a great job of bringing the Alexa product benefits to life in unexpected and charming ways.
